Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following information when you use TradingNews:

  • Account information -- email address and name provided during sign-up via Clerk.
  • Usage logs -- API request timestamps, endpoints called, response codes, and IP addresses for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
  • Payment data -- billing details are processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send transactional emails (billing receipts, key expiry notices). We do not send marketing emails without consent.

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following processors:

  • Clerk -- authentication and user management.
  • Stripe -- payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Google (Tag Manager, Analytics 4, Ads) -- marketing measurement and ad attribution. See section 7 for details on what we share with Google and how it is hashed before transmission.

Each processor operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account. Usage logs are retained for 90 days, then aggregated and anonymized. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Data portability -- receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

6. Cookies, Browser Storage & Consent

On your first visit you will see a consent banner asking whether to enable measurement cookies set by Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads. Until you accept, those tags load in Google Consent Mode v2 with ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storageall denied — meaning no advertising or analytics cookies are written and no measurement data leaves your browser. We additionally enable Google's ads-data redaction signal while consent is denied.

You can change your decision at any time using the Manage cookies link in the footer. Rejecting consent does not affect your ability to use the Service.

Independent of analytics consent, we use essential cookies for authentication sessions and a randomly-generated, non-personal device identifier stored in your browser to count unique visitors. No name, email, or IP is associated with this identifier, and these cookies are required for the Service to function.

7. Marketing Measurement & Enhanced Conversions

We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads to measure how our marketing performs and to attribute sign-ups and subscriptions back to the ad campaigns that drove them.

When you sign up or subscribe, we send Google a SHA-256 hashedversion of your email address as part of Google's Enhanced Conversions feature. The hash is one-way and irreversible -- Google cannot recover your raw email from it. Google uses the hash only to match a conversion against an already-logged-in Google user for attribution accuracy.

We do not send Google your raw email, your name, or any other identifying information beyond the hashed email and the conversion event itself (event name, plan, value, currency, transaction ID).

You can disable Enhanced Conversions and all Google ad measurement by using a browser-level Do Not Track signal, by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by emailing us at the address in section 8 to request suppression of your hashed email from future ad measurement.
